Centre for Integrated Sensing, Communication and Computing for Cognitive Cities (ISAC³)
Launched 9 February 2026
Launched 9 February 2026, ISAC³ harnesses the vast amounts of data gathered by 6G communications technologies to build cities that are healthier, safer and more sustainable. Unlike today's reactive smart cities, cognitive cities use AI to analyse data from sensors and mobile devices so that urban systems can predict and pre-empt problems — gridlock, poor air quality, infrastructure failures, public health risks — rather than just respond after the fact. The centre is deliberately interdisciplinary, uniting engineering, computing science, cybersecurity, public health, innovation, business, social science and urban planning under one roof.
